Reviews Chaser - Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms

These terms form the entire agreement between you ("the subscriber") and Steve Blackmore, sole trader, operating Reviews Chaser at steveblackmore.dev/reviews-chaser ("I", "me", "my", "Reviews Chaser"). By creating an account and completing payment you confirm you have read and agree to be bound by them.

This is a business-to-business service. By subscribing you confirm that you are acting in the course of your trade, business, or profession and not as a consumer.

2. What you are buying

Reviews Chaser is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that allows you to send automated review request emails to your customers after a job is completed. The service includes:

  • Access to the Reviews Chaser dashboard
  • Automated review request email sending via your configured Google Business Profile link
  • Request history and tracking
  • Email support

The Pro plan additionally includes priority support and unlimited review requests (subject to fair use - see Section 6).

3. Trial and subscription

14-day trial: New subscribers pay £1 to begin a 14-day trial. Your card is saved at the point of payment. The £1 charge is non-refundable.

Automatic renewal: At the end of your trial, your saved card will automatically be charged the monthly plan price (£29/month for Starter, £49/month for Pro) unless you cancel before the trial ends. You will receive a reminder email before the charge is taken.

Ongoing subscription: After the trial, your subscription renews monthly on the same date. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard - see Section 8.

4. Payment

All payments are processed securely via Revolut. By completing the trial payment you authorise Reviews Chaser to charge your saved card for ongoing monthly subscription fees.

If a monthly payment fails, I will attempt to notify you by email. If payment is not received within 14 calendar days of the due date, your account may be suspended. Access will be restored once the outstanding payment is settled.

All prices are in GBP and inclusive of any applicable taxes.

5. Price changes

I may adjust subscription pricing from time to time. If I do, I will give you at least 30 days' written notice to the email address on your account before any change takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel under Section 8 before the change applies.

6. Fair use

The Starter plan includes up to 200 review request emails per calendar month.

The Pro plan includes unlimited review request emails subject to fair use. Fair use means the service is intended for normal business use - sending review requests to genuine customers following real jobs or transactions. It is not intended for bulk sending, mass marketing, or any automated or scripted use beyond the Reviews Chaser dashboard.

Each subscription is for a single user. If multiple people in your business need to send review requests, each person requires their own subscription. Sharing a single account across multiple users is not permitted under the fair use policy.

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the fair use policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use Reviews Chaser only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

  • Send review requests to people who have not had a genuine interaction with your business
  • Use the service to send unsolicited bulk email or spam
  • Attempt to manipulate, incentivise, or fabricate Google reviews
  • Use the service in any way that violates Google's review policies
  • Attempt to access, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform or its infrastructure
  • Use the service on behalf of multiple businesses under a single account
  • Resell or sublicense access to the platform

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these conditions without refund.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings tab of your dashboard. No further charges will be made after cancellation. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

If you cancel during your trial period, no further charges will be made. The £1 trial fee is non-refundable.

9. Refunds

The £1 trial fee is non-refundable. Monthly subscription payments already collected are non-refundable. If you believe a charge has been made in error, please contact me at contact page and I will investigate promptly.

10. Your data and your customers' data

To use Reviews Chaser you will submit your customers' names and email addresses so that review request emails can be sent on your behalf. By submitting this data you confirm that:

  • You have a lawful basis under UK GDPR to share this data with a third-party processor
  • Your customers have been informed that their data may be used to contact them following a job completion
  • You are the data controller for your customers' data; Reviews Chaser acts as a data processor on your behalf

Customer email addresses submitted to Reviews Chaser are used solely for the purpose of sending review request emails on your behalf and are not shared with any third party other than our email delivery provider (Brevo). Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

11. Account security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your password or API key with unauthorised third parties. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact me immediately at contact page.

12. Intellectual property

All intellectual property in the Reviews Chaser platform, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, remains the property of Steve Blackmore. Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for the duration of your subscription. This licence terminates immediately upon cancellation or termination of your account.

13. Service availability and email delivery

I aim to keep Reviews Chaser available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

Review request emails are sent via a third-party email delivery provider (Brevo). I do not guarantee that emails will reach the recipient's inbox. Emails may be delayed, filtered as spam, bounced, or blocked by the recipient's email provider. I am not liable for any losses arising from emails not being delivered, not being opened, or not resulting in a review.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

Reviews Chaser is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

I make no guarantee as to the number of reviews you will receive, the effect on your Google ranking, or any specific business outcome. Results depend on many factors outside my control including your customers' behaviour, your Google Business Profile status, and Google's own algorithms and policies.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses or damages arising out of or in connection with your use of Reviews Chaser, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of data, or loss of reputation, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Steve Blackmore from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of Reviews Chaser, including any emails sent on your behalf
  • Your breach of these terms, including the acceptable use and fair use policies
  • Any claim by a third party (including your customers) relating to emails sent through the platform, including claims of spam, harassment, or data protection violations
  • Your failure to comply with UK GDPR or any other applicable data protection legislation in relation to the customer data you submit

17. Data retention and deletion

While your account is active, your data (including your customers' names and email addresses, request history, and account settings) is stored securely on UK-based servers.

Upon cancellation or termination of your account, your data will be retained for 30 calendar days to allow you to reactivate if you change your mind. After 30 days, all customer data you submitted (names, email addresses, and request history) will be permanently deleted. Your account record (business name, email address) may be retained for accounting and legal purposes.

You may request immediate deletion of all customer data at any time by contacting contact page.

18. Force majeure

Neither party will be liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, power outages, internet service disruptions, third-party service failures (including email delivery providers and Google), government actions, or pandemics.

19. Changes to the service

I may update, modify, or discontinue features of Reviews Chaser from time to time. I will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes. If I discontinue the service entirely, I will give at least 30 days' notice and provide a pro-rata refund of any prepaid subscription fees.

20. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. If I make changes that affect your rights or obligations, I will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the service after that notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

21. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
